Grieving families back law change which would ban new young drivers from carrying passengers

Olivia’s family are among many to suffer the loss of a teenager in a car crash caused by a young driver. After the death of her son, Crystal Owen has launched a petition calling on the UK government to introduce a graduated licensing scheme.

Olivia’s mother, Jo Alkir, supports the proposed scheme and was interviewed on Radio Wales Breakfast on 10th April 2024.  She gives her views about how a graduated licensing scheme would have prevented Olivia’s death.
