Jo visited Recclesia today to see the progress on Olivia’s window.
The window is based on a piece of abstract artwork by Olivia showing the lane leading to the churchyard where she now rests.
The work on the window is painstaking. Colour is gradually laid onto the glass until it’s perfect. Some elements are hand drawn. There is also a sandblasting procedure to finely adapt the colours to get them just right – the more sandblasting, the less colour. Special glass from Germany is being used for the window.
